okay, i've had a look at packagekit and it is great.

but what i noticed is that in contrast to other package management tools you have to do 2 clicks to install an app. in pirut, you just do the ticks and press apply.

this can be very annoying when you have to install multiple things. so, there's still work to do.

what about putting 2 or 3 small buttons beside every package name. press one and the application installs in background. the other one is available for applications which are already installed and which removes it and the third one is for reinstalling it.

also, this would be a way to display if the application is already installed.
